My DIY Projects
Save the Dates
We ordered our save the dates using magnets. They have invitations, save the dates, invitations, wedding supplies and more. Lots of choices to choose from. Also ordered magnet card holder's from Magnet Street - with accommodations on the back.
Bridal Shower Invitations
WIth my mom and sister, we printed our own invitations and used a Cricut to die cut the sea creatures to embellish them. It was an "Everything from A to Z" theme. Each guest received a tag with a letter on it, that was attached to their gift. The ideas was to find a gift that begins with their letter. Guests got really creative, - especially on those harder letters, and it made the afternoon go quickly for everyone, as they wanted to see what they did for their lettter.
We also played a game where the guests had to come up with at word for each letter of the alphabet, trying to match what I had written down. Half way through the shower, I took a break from opening gifts to play the games. I read my list to everyone and those with the most matches won a prize. We also played "Bling Bling Bride" with their name tags. They were felt wedding dresses used as name tags. The winner removed the stuffing from the pocket and had a ring in them.

Our Centerpieces for Dinner Tables
Our centerpieces for the dinner tables - Milk Jar Vases with stemed votive holders. Sand is from the beach where we're getting married, and has shells, finger starfish and sand dollar. We're using sea glass around the vase instead of the glass tiles.
Our invitations
Our invitations were purchased from invitesite.com. They are made from recycled paper and are plantable. Loved them! They provided everything needed in the kit to assemble and print them. Do recommend checking your printer for paper dimensions allowed, as these were narrow and we had to use a copier to print them.
Below are some of pictures from the assembly party. Made for a good afternoon with bridesmaids, family and friends.

Flower Girl's Carriage
This antique carriage belongs to my sister (we all had one growing up, but much larger). Our flower girl is just turing two, so this is the perfect size for her. My dad re-upolstered it for me to match the colors of the wedding. She's going to push it down the isle with a Bitty Baby (in a Flower Girl outfit) that she's getting as a thank-you gift. Shh! She'll be able to put her flowers in the carriage as well. Hoping this will motivate her to walk down the aisle. She's walking with our Black Lab as the ringbearer who's escorted by my oldest nephew.
Ring Bearer Shell
I used an abolone shell and threaded a coordinating ribbon through the holes to tie rings on.
Escort Cards
I ordered small envelopes and we glued coordinating ribbons around the top of the envelop and hot glued a mini sugar starfish to cover the overlap. Inside each envelope is a card with the story of the "Legend of the Starfish". The cards were ordered from Baudville.com.
Favors
My Mom and her friends assembled the favors. We bought clear glass ornaments at Christmas. They were filled with beach sand, sea grass, mini sugar starfish and shells, and sea glass. The tops were hot glued on, and then we tied ribbons around the neck that were personalize with our names and wedding date in 2 coordinating colors. Another mini starfish is glued to the bow for an additional touch.
Table Markers
I used a message in a bottle as a table marker. Each bottle will hold a table name of a beach that my fiance and I have visited over the years with a photo of that beach.
To make them, I cut colored wire and wrapped around the neck of the bottle several times. I coiled the ends to finish them off. The smaller piece on the bottom had small coil, where the longer one that extends above the neck has more and larger coils to hold the signs. Inside the bottle is a rolled note telling guests how to determine who gets to take the centerpiece home. The smaller coil holds mini magnifying lenses. These will be used to read the dates on pennies hidden under each plate. We hunted for pennies with our birth years. The guest with one of our years, gets to keep the centerpiece. The bottles were ordered from SKS Bottles.

Message in the Bottle Poem
A message in a bottle
Is a gift from the sea
Just as treasured as
Our love is meant to be.
A penny you will find
Underneath each dinner plate
The lens will help you find
Our birth years, 1965 or 1958.
Should you be the one
To find the hidden treasure
The centerpiece is yours to take
Please, it is our pleasure.
We hope you enjoyed your meal
Now join us for some fun
We’ll see you in the Carriage Room
The night is not quite done.
Thanks for sharing our special day
This lovely night in May.

Card Box
Found this wrought iron basket at Home Goods. I made a fabric liner for it, supporting the sides with poster board to hold the shape. It as a opening on the bottom to remove the cards after the wedding.
Menu Cards
Our menu cards will be at each plate. Printed them on card stock, and then mounted to coordinating paper for a mat.

Telephone Toast
Our reception is in a old sea captains house, so the dinning rooms are connected, and open to each other by large windows that open onto the original garden room. Instead of having everyone cling the glasses, we're having them play a game. Remember the childhood game of telephone? We'll we're asking guests to make a toast and play the telephone game. The person who makes the toast will record it on the back of the table tent card and then pass it around the table by whispering in the persons ear next to them. The last person to hear the message will write it down on the back, then stand and announce the toast.

Photo Scavenger Hunt
Made scavenger hunt cards with different lists for each table. I attched each to a disposable camera. The directions were on one side, and the lsit on the back. Hoping to catch some intersting and fun photos that the photographer may have missed. We bought plain ones and added a starfish sticker to each. I have small white golf pencils to go with them so they can check off the photos gotten. Having guests leave them at the end of the night and we'll develop after the wedding. The first picture on each camera is a picture of the card before they were tied on so that we know what they were looking for.

Wedding Programs
I ordered them from Invitesite.com as well. They are made from recycled paper. I printed them on my desktop, and then my mom and I assembled them. They provide you with all the tools and materials. Very easy to do.
Sand Brushes
Because we got married on the beach, and encouraged guests to go barefoot, we had paint brushes with tags that read, "Brush the Sand from your Feet", tied to the handle with coordinating ribbons. We had them in a claming basket decorated with shells hanging from jute. Our guests appreciated a way to get the sand off their feet before heading to the reception.
Chair Markers
We had beach like signs that we hung on our chairs as well. RJ loves Italian cars, and the shoe just fit, so we used them and painted them to coordinate with the ribbons. I made ribbons that velcroed around the chair as well in green, blue and white.
